Events

On November 16, 2000, John Webb, the Assistant Chief in the Wildlife and Marine Resources Section of the U.S. Department of Justice, spoke on the illegal international trade of plants and animals. $10 billion to $20 billion in plants and animals were illegally traded around the world in 2000. U.S. buyers constitute approximately $3 million of the purchases, leading the global list of buyers. If you want to learn more about the illegal trade of wildlife, read Mr. Webb's article "Prosecuting Wildlife Traffickers: Important Cases, Many Tools, Good Results."
